STF nabs smuggler with 190 canisters of pine resin

Tuesday, 07 February 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) arrested a smuggler in Haldwani in the wee hours of Monday with 190 canisters of illegally procured pine tree resin from Someshwar in Almora district. The STF is pursuing those involved in buying and selling of such illegally procured pine resin. The STF senior superintendent of police Ayush Agrawal informed that the authorities have been receiving information of smuggling of pine resin from the forests of mountainous areas of the State. He said that the STF got a tip-off on Sunday that a truck carrying several canisters of pine resin is arriving in Haldwani in the wee hours of Monday.
